Scott S. Wakefield
Scott S. Wakefield,is a member of the firm. Previously, Mr. Wakefield served for 10 years as Chief Counsel at State of Arizona’s Residential Utility Consumer Office (RUCO), and for 7 years at the Arizona Corporation Commission in its Securities Division and as a Hearing Officer. He has substantial experience in utility regulatory proceedings involving electric, natural gas, water, sewer and telecommunications matters.
Mr. Wakefield assists clients with a variety of transactions, including loan documentation for financial institutions, securities transactions, loan workouts, acquisition of a financial institution, development of waste-to-energy facilities, and development of grain importing facilities as a joint venture of several agricultural clients.
Mr. Wakefield is also a part of the RHL’s Non-profit Practice Group, assisting non-profit organization clients assess and address operational risks and implement organizational structures to maximize their ability to receive tax deductible contributions and grants, appropriately address risks, and minimize burdensome administrative regulation.
